A COMPANY ROOTED
IN HISTORY

Presley Electric Company was founded in 1950 by a retired Georgia Power employee, Mr. Ralph L. Presley in East Point, Georgia. The primary focus of the company was small appliance repair and residential electrical installation around the tri-city area of East Point, College Park, and Hapeville, Georgia.

Presley Electric Company was purchased by William H. Barnett and Gerald W. Barnett, Sr.

By this time, the direction of the company had moved towards commercial and industrial work. Our primary focus became commercial new construction and design build projects formulated around big box retail stores, mall renovations, hospitality, automotive, and retail centers. As a result of the working relationship with site developers and the owners of retail spaces, our customer base grew to include nationwide clients, such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales, JC Penney, Belk, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

In February 2001, a stock purchase agreement was finalized and Presley Electric Company, Inc. of Fayetteville, GA, was now owned by cousins Chris Barnett and Jerry Barnett, who both had been employed by Presley Electric since the early 1980’s. 

Chris and Jerry saw an opportunity to open an office in Florida. By 2005, the Florida branch, employing 125 electricians, had contracted work from throughout the state from the panhandle to Miami Beach.

Presley Electric expanded even further by working in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Texas.

Due to expansive growth, the company moved its main office to a bigger facility located in Palmetto, Georgia.

Still based in Palmetto, Presley Electric continues to build relationships with a host of trade companies, general contractors, insurance, and banking and financial institutions. Our company has been a member of the Independent Electrical Contractors Association for over 20 years.
